Giveaway Day #4: Edor Jewelry (CLOSED!!)

Hope you have been keeping up with my Eight Days of Giveaways so far! We are now in the middle of it with our fourth day!

I love how Edor has so many great necklaces that are simple yet look amazing. While the current trend right now is honking huge statement necklaces, lets face it a girl needs something simple yet effective now and again, and Edor perfectly meets this need. Cindy's use of beautiful gemstones and charms makes them perfect for layering with bigger pieces or even better layering with other pieces from Edor! While I love the necklace designs of Edor, what I love best is the amazing prices! Nothing in Edor is over $23!! Pretty designs and affordable! What's not to like?

Probably the small Gold halo, Fleur, and the long Lavaliere necklace... are most frequently worn.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I grew up experimenting with art and reading lots of books. My dream always was to be some type of artist. In high school it was movie director then music video director, in college it was graphic design and advertising, then changed my mind again and studied photography for awhile. All this dabbling indecision was becoming worrisome... then came Etsy.

When and what made you want to open up your shop?

I was fortunate to stumble upon Etsy while researching jewelry websites during a brief stint as a web designer. Etsy had the cutest little shops with fresh, unique items found nowhere else. I was inspired. I've always had an interest in small business but wasn't brave enough to open up a brick and mortar. After a couple trial and errors I "settled down" a bit with jewelry. I still have many different ideas brewing, it never ends!

Tell us a little bit more about your creation process:

I allow my creative process to happen very naturally: The majority of the time I browse/shop online, keep up with style blogs, and take note of what everyday people are wearing. I notice emerging trends and themes and tuck them away for reference. After some weeks of this "research" I sit down and make many new pieces at once. My style is simple so I focus making things just right. What isn't added is as important as what is. Product photos come after, on a sunny day when I have the time. Sometimes a customer request works its way into a new piece.

Where do you draw inspiration for all your amazing designs?

The funny thing is that I was never much of a jewelry person. I thought jewelry was pretty to look at, but practically speaking I didn't want to fuss with it in the morning. One day I wanted a simple, dainty pearl necklace that was pre tty and went with everything. So I made it for myself and for the shop and it sold... and it still sells. I was my own niche. Everything else fell into place from there.

If you could be an animal what would you be and why?

A bird! It would be so freeing to up and go anywhere on a wh im. My dream is to travel the world taking pictures and creating lovely things... isn't that every girl's dream?

If you could have one super power what would it be and why?

Either being able to fly or have superbusinesssavvybrainpower like Martha and Oprah. I like how they are their own brand.
