Giveaway Day #6: Mussette

Yay thanks for all the great response to the Eight Days of Giveaways! You guys are awesome and rock!


Now we come to Day #6! The featured seller is Mussette! I was lucky enough to do a review with Musette which is an Etsy store that makes amazing jewelry. Musette is the work of hannon Conlin and her dedication to her designs shines throught in every single piece in her shop!

When I was first approached by her to do a review I was very excited! I went over to her etsy shop and fell in love with so many of her designs! What I love about her pieces are that they are great for everyday use and they can be the focal point of an outfit!

Shannon was so nice enough to send me a lovely piece from her shop to review. The reivew piece came in very nice packaging: a gift box with green paper accent and a nice brown ribbon that tied everything together nicely! This is so convenient if you want to gift one of her itmes because the wrapping is already done for you!

(The bracelet I reviewed)

I revieved a very pretty bracelet that I have been wearing the past few days! It is a lovely bracelet that is made up of freshwater peals that are dyed a vibrant olive green and for an accent she has included three lovely Czech glass beads that are a lovely shade of honey amber. I really loved the clasp that she used for the bracelet which was a wide oval, because it too made a nice accent because it was so different from a conventional clasp! The bracelet has a great weight to it and I love mixing and matching it with other bracelets that I have, but i also looks lovely on its own.

Shannon really does have some amazing pieces in her store right now, with so much selection that goes so well with each other! I would have to say taht my favourties would have to be the Ocean Breeze Neckalce in a light ocean blue Lucite and brass; The Amazonite Leaf Necklace and the Wildflower Bracelet! If you love the bracelet that I got to reivew, Shannon has another bracelt that is very similar to it except that the pearls are a rich gold instead of green and Czech beads are olive green instead of honey coloured.

What is your favorite item from your shop? This a hard one - I think I like all the chandelier earrings the best right now.

Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I have always been a painter and I have also been making jewelry for over 10 years. So creativity has always been a big part of my life. When I 'm not making jewelry I am working in a local art gallery and hanging out with my boyfriend and our cat, Bosco.

What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?
I think my greatest accomplishment has been figuring out what I want to be when I grow up! I have always been an artist but figuring out how to turn that love into a job has been an amazing journey. Of course, there is still a lot to accomplish - but knowing it is on my terms and something I am building for myself makes me feel really great!

When and what made you want to open up your shop?
I wanted to be self sufficient by doing something I love - I figured Etsy would be a good place to start! I opened in March of 2008 - but didn't really get going until July of that year.

Tell us a little bit more about your creation process:

I usually get inspiration from my supplies - so I sit surrounded by all kinds of beads, charms, vintage bits - whatever strikes my fancy - and I start just putting things together. I usually make one or two of a kind pieces - that way I don't get bored and my shop stays really fresh!

Where do you draw inspiration for all your amazing designs?
I love looking at the supply pages on Etsy. There is so much great stuff to be found that it really sparks my creativity!

If you could be an animal what would you be and why?
I would be a cat for sure - what a life!

If you could have one super power what would it be and why?
Hmmmm - super power...I have no idea! Maybe it would be cool to be able to be invisible...
