Fall means many things: the changing colour of leaves, back to school, cooler weather and most importantly it marks the transition from hot sunny days to cold winter nights. The best way to make this change is to find pieces that can be worn on days where the weather just can’t make up its mind.
Here are my top five must haves to help you make that transition:
1.The Fitted Biker Jacket
Nothing looks better than a fitted biker jacket in leather because it is such a versatile piece. You can throw it on over a pair of jeans and a t-shirt for a more casual dress or pair it with a feminine dress to add a bit of edgy elegance. And if you don’t like leather the good news is that there are many great non-leather options out there.
I love wearing leggings because of the fact that I was not blessed with enough junk in the trunk and most jeans just look plain baggy on me. Leggings have made a huge comeback and it looks like it’
s a trend that is here to stay...or at least in my closet. Leggings look great paired under a chunky sweater or flowy shirts but make sure the shirt is long enough to keep your modesty. With so many different options like leather or jeans and with many great embellishments like studs and zippers there are so many ways in which you can rock your leggings.
3.The Trench Coat
Nothing beats wearing a trench coat on rainy days! It adds a sense of mystery and is
perfect for allowing you to keep stylish even if the weather isn’t. It’s also perfect for those of you who work since it looks amazing paired with formal business wear but it is versatile enough that you can wear it casually. I would suggest paying a bit more to get quality because a trench truly is a investment piece that never goes out of style. If you want to stand out, there are trenches in many different colours, try a red or even a bright yellow.
4.The Statement Necklace
I am a huge lover of accessories and jewellery is a huge weakness for me. I literally feel naked if I don’t have at least one piece of jewellery on. Statement necklaces surfaced a few years ago and it seems like a trend that has no intention of disappearing. It’s a great way to dress up a casual outfit or as a finishing touch to a cocktail dress.
5.TheLittle (Non)Black Dress
Sure every girl has the one item in her wardrobe that she turns to in a time of need: The Little Black Dress. But embracing colour is not a bad thing and the best way to stand out in a sea of LBD is to wear a LNBD or Little Non Black Dress. With so many colours and patterns and so many cuts and details why settle for boring old black? I can assure you that once you go LNBD you’ll never look at your LBD the same way again.
