Lisa Leonard Designs Giveaway!

I know that Valentine's Day is already here and I hope your loves get you something extra nice. Now the next big holiday to look forward to is Mother's Day! Although it might be a tad bit early, it's never to early to find a great gift. And if you find it difficult to find a present that will accurately show how much you love and appreciate the Mom in your life, how about getting her something just as unique as she is? Lisa Leonard Designs is one of my favorite new site specializing in personalized jewelry.

Lisa's love for creating jewelry started at a young age, with her designing when she was just in high school. When she had her first child, she wanted what most moms want...to quit her job and open a small business in which she could stay at home to be there for her kids. What Lisa didn't realize at the time was just how big her small business would actually become! Her designs have become quite popular! What I find most amazing is that Lisa has no actual formal classes or training in jewelry making, she just decided to take the leap and follow her heart and this is quite inspiring!

Lisa has many great things in her shop like necklaces, earrings, bracelets and so much more! She has received such great press and has been featured in numerous of blogs! There are always many great giveaways going on featuring her products and I know the response to her work is tremendous. That's why I was so honoured that I had the opportunity to do a review for her. And of course dear readers a giveaway too! But you will have to be patient and wait for it!

My Review:

Lisa was so kind to send me a beautiful piece from her Custom Collection. This collection is made up of beautiful necklaces that are customized with either names or initials. I was sent the Petite Family Crest Necklace that was personalized with an "N" for Nicole. Usually you would put your initial of your last name (hence the family crest) but I wanted to do my first initial instead.

Lisa was such a pleasure to work with and I was very happy with my Lisa Leonard Designs experience. It didn't take a long time for my necklace to ship even though she had to handstamp my necklace, which was a good thing because I was itching to get my fingers on it.
When it arrived I was extremely pleased with the presentation. The box that stored the necklace was nestled on a bed of paper confetti housed in a much larger box. This was a great reflection of her logo which is a bird. The smaller box that contained the necklace was then wrapped with green ribbon.

When I opened up the box I fell in love! I had to wear it right away and I just loved how it felt on my neck. The stamping was well defined and could be easily seen from a distance and the lovely pearl glowed on the necklace. I had this strung on a 16 inch chain and while the photos look like one of those chunky ball chains that I hate, don't be fooled because the chain is quite delicate and very shiny! I guess the closeup made the chain look like the dreaded chunky ball chain but I can assure you that it's not!

I love love this necklace so much! I love how the silver disc is not too large that it is overpowering, but not too small so that it will get lost or not noticed. I also like the small little pearl and how it is an elegant little touch to the necklace. I have gotten many great compliments from people about this necklace and just how beautiful it is.

Get your Lifestyle and Fashion Fix all in One Place!

I really enjoy keeping up to date on the latest fashion and lifestyle news and trends and I have a great amount of different sites that I usually like to refer to in order to keep me up to date. StyleCaster is one of those great sites that allows me to do both!

Some great features of StyleCaster that I would love to share with you is their Explore Looks function where you can basically explore the latest fashions and discover innovative and creative ways in combining trends together! I loved how the models actually moved and you were a given a 360 degree look of the outfit so that you could see what the back looked like! Because as we all know our back can be just as important as what is in front. Sometimes we are given all these trends to look out for, but we don't know exactly how to pull it off. I felt that this was a great resource in trying to help me find out what works with what.

StyleCaster also has helpful links that allows you to go directly to the sites that sell the items that are featured in each outfit. So if something catches your eye yo u can easily purchase it straight from the source instead of having to search for it.

Another feature I really liked was Daily Mirrors in which everday women can display their own sense of style and their own take on trends. It was really great to see how they would wear a certain thing and it really gave me a lot of great ideas on new ways to wear things!

And for my readers residing in the UK I really enjoy keeping up to date with all the latest style and fashion tips that include stores that can only be found in the UK! A great resource for this is Fashion Chicks a great resource for the latest great ladies fashion ideas and best of all the currency of the items featured are all in pounds so no need for pesky converting of dollars!!

Alex and Ani Review

I have tiny wrists so I'm always loosing bangles and bracelets which is beyond annoying! Most bracelets and bangles are in the 7-7.5 range and even they are too big for me! That's why I was so happy to discover Alex and Ani expandable bracelets!

Alex and Ani is a company that began ten years ago by Carolyn Rafaelian, and I love how she named her company after her two daughters! Carolyn comes from a background of jewelry since her family has many jewelers in it. So growing up within this environment has allowed her to develop her unique style. Carolyn is commited to designing products that not only adorns the body, but enlightens the mind, and empowers the spirit. Alex and Ani's collections reflect a design aesthetic that celebrates each wearer's unique essence. Her su ccess has been continually attributed to the ability to design pieces that express awareness, empowerment, and inner beauty. Alex and Ani continues to inspire women through unique design which truly brings out the beauty in everyone.

Another great thing about Alex and Ani that I just love is that their jewelry is eco-friendly and is made with recycled metals! It is really great to find companies that are dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment. And while they are well known for their bracelets, Alex and Ani also offers a large variety of jewelry including earrings, necklaces, hair accessories and rings!

Alex and Ani's jewelry is a huge celeb favorite and is featured in all of the biggest magazines such as Marie Claire, People, Oprah Magazine, Glamour, Lucky and what I think is most impressive Vogue!!

The Review:

I was so happy to be able to review one of Alex and Ani's expandable bracelets for myself in order to see if their expandable bracelets would work for me. The bracelet that I got the chance to review was Crazy Love Expandable Wire Bangle in Russian Gold. It came wrapped up in their signature blue box and is ready for being sent! I also love that an amazing quote was included in the box and it was "When the power of Love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace" by Jimi Hendrix. I love a bangle bracelet but my problem in the past was always of fit and being able to keep the bracelet on my wrist and not on the ground! But thanks to Alex and Ani's patented technology I was very pleased that it did indeed stay on my wrist. This technology replaces the traditional clasp with a sliding mechanism which allows each piece to be adjustable. This feature is genius! It allows each piece to be customized to fit you perfectly so you don't have to worry whether it will be too big or small.

The expandable collection is available in precious metals or their signature Russian silver and Russian gold finishes. I love my bracelet because it’s so lightweight and feminine, yet sturdy and secure. It fits my wrist beautifully and slips on and off with ease. The love charm dangles gently from the bangle which gives this piece such character and I love how there are other small charms as well. My bracelet really has a nice sound to it when I move and walk which is often since I use my hands a lot when I talk! Another thing that I love about this bracelet is that it can be worn alone or with other bangles and will compliment any outfit. The Crazy Love Bracelet is a steal at only $21!!!

You can visit Alex and Ani online, Follow Alex and Ani on Twitter and become a fan of Alex and Ani on Facebook!!

Discount:

Alex and Ani has been so kind in offering a great discount code that can be used on their site: The Promo Code is MB2010 and you will receive 10% if all your purchases of all Alex and Ani products (excluding their Charity by Design) and also please note that the code is case sensitive so please copy and paste the code so that it works!!!!

Love in 90 Days Review and Giveaway (5 copies!)

Even though Valentine's Day has passed, but it is never to early to think about next Valentine's Day, especially if you are single! Sometimes when you are not in a relationship you may lose hope that you will ever find the person that is right for you. Sometimes even if you are dating you may wonder why you are attracting all the wrong types of men. Dr. Diana has written a frank and informative book that will get you up on your feet and empower you with the tools to become a dating success.

LOVE IN 90 DAYS
By Dr. Diana Kirschner, PhD

From the book description:

Finding true love is possible in just 90 days. Renowned clinical psychologist, Dr. Diana Kirschner, uses the latest research, clinical and personal experience to show you how. Dr. Diana knows the questions single women everywhere face: "Why am I attracted to the wrong kind of guys?" "Why is he just not that into me?" "Why can't I seem to find the One?" She also knows the unconscious mistakes that women make over and over again in love-regardless of age, work success, or the type of men they are dating.

Over the years Dr. Diana has received countless inquiries from single women about writing a how-to guide on her work. Love in 90 Days: The Essential Guide to Finding Your Own True Love is that book.

My Review:

Even though I have been with my boyfriend for close to three years, I found that Love in 90 Days was a great read. This would have been an awesome tool when I was single! Love in 90 Days is a great book that is not only fun but is based on the latest research on singles, online dating and healthy relationships. Even though she is Dr. Diana, Diana truly talks to you one on one as if you are confiding to a friend and this close and familiar coziness really reassures you that love can come if you open yourself to it.

I really liked how this book had many different interactive components to it. Loaded with step-by-step instructions, checklists, and weekly homework assignments, this revolutionary love book is also an intensely personal journey for each reader. I also liked how this book was set out so that you can track your progress throughout the weeks and months. Diana dispels common misconceptions about love relationships and dating, and share personal stories from women who have successfully completed the Love in 90 Days Program.

I also love how this book tries to reach out to the modern reader, there is a chapter devoted to the special issues faced by African-American women, single mothers, and women forty-five and older. This really shows us that no matter how bleak your situation may seem you are deserving of love.

Cover your Hair Review

I love changing up my look by using great hair accessories and I have found a great site that offer great hair accessories at very reasonable prices! Cover your Hair is a great place for reasonably priced and very fashionable hair accessories!

Usually feather headbands that I usually find can range anywhere from thirty dollars or more! But over at Cover you Hair, they have amazing feather headbands in great assortments of feather colours and designs for as low as $11.89!

Cover your Hair is a great place for stylish hair accessories, and true to their name they don't only sell just headbands and hair ties. Cover your Hair also sells other great products like hats, belts and shawls! So there is great selection of products to choose from!

Review:

I wish I could upload some of the great pictures that I took of the headband that they sent me but unfortunately my computer is still not able to access wifi! Pretty aggravating! But anyways the people over at Cover your Hair sent me their Plaid Flower Headband! This headband is regularly priced at $13.99 but it is now on sale for only $4.20!

The headband came quickly and it was one size fit all! The flower is a great size because it's not too large and not too small so that you won't notice it! I love the plaid colour that I had and I felt that the headband was thick enough to be able to keep my hair back which is quite a feat since my hair can be quite stubborn!

Now they have a great deal going on where shipping is only $1 within the US!!! This is such a great deal because shipping can really add up! So head on over to Cover your Hair to check out their great products!

Look out for a giveaway from them soon!

*Disclosure: Please note that I was not compensated for this review post and all opinions expressed within this post are that of my own. I was only sent the headband from Cover your Hair in order to do a review.

Computer Troubles

I am having a frustrating time trying to get my laptop to work!!! The wireless switch does not seem to be working at it is totally aggravating! I'm so frustrated because all the pictures that I have taken in order to do my reviews on are on my laptop and I can't get it to work so I might just have to stick with pictures taken from the company's website instead of using my own! It sucks because I love incorporating my own pictures of me modeling the items mixed in with the more professional pictures.

As for the Clutch That! Giveaway I know many of you are eagerly awaiting and I have gotten emails but you have to excuse me since there were so many entries I have to tally them all! So please be patient and give me two more days!!! Hopefully I can fix my laptop mess, but until then please bear with!

London Bridge Children Review

Need something to add colour to your child's bedroom? Or looking for a great gift to celebrate the new child in your life? London Bridge Children is a great store that has a great variety of products that would be great for adding some colour and personalization to any child's room.

Not only does Lori, the owner of London Bridge Children have great art that would be perfect to hang in a kids room, but they can be personalized as well! If you have more than one child there is artwork that can accomodate more than one child's name. Lori has a lot of experience in what kids like because she draws inspiration for her art from her own four kids aged 1 to 11!

Lori's amazing artwork isn't the only items that she features in her shop, there are amazing personalized handstamped mom necklaces and they are quite lovely and not to mention affordable as well! She also features great bedding for your child's nursery and has designs for both a girls or boys room. Or if you are not sure of the gender of your baby you can always choose bedding that is gender neutral! I also love her whimsical room decor with such things as a book chest, and a growth chart.

My Review

Lori was so kind in order to send over a personalized art peice and I decided to go for the Wagon Friends. As you all know I love animals and there were so many great options of art that were available. I had it customized with my own name since I don't have kids!

The package arrived quickly and I was very impressed with just how cute it was! It was printed on a thick high-quality archival paper and while the size I got was 8x10 size, the prints are all available in 11x14 and 16x20 sizes as well. I love how it looks and it adds such a special touch to my room!

Check back soon for a giveaway from London Bridge Children

*Disclosure: Please note that I was not given monetary compensation to conduct this review other than the piece that was sent to me in order to do the reveiw. All opinions and ideas expressed within this post are that of my own.
