Prom 2010 Event: Miss Ruby Sue Giveaway!!

I am so excited to be hosting a Prom 2010 Event! I'm graduating this year and I realized that so many readers might also be grading too! Although I am graduating from university it's totally different from a high school prom which seems to be more intense and elaborate, I wanted to have an event that offered some great ideas for such things as jewelry, make-up and even dresses! And yes the grand prize giveaway will be an actual grad dress!!!!

Our first featured sponsor is the very lovely Miss Ruby Sue! With spring coming the flowers are blooming everywhere which I totally love! This isn't just in gardens but in fashion as well! In fact H&M has this amazing Garden Collection coming out and it's just amazing! And a great way to incorporate flowers into your wardrobe is through accessories! This is where Miss Ruby Sue comes in!

Miss Ruby Sue is the leading premier original couture accessories line of womens' silk statement necklaces, bracelets, handbags and hairpieces. She offers accessories that truly makes you stand out and will definitely get you noticed in a crowd. Any of her accessories can turn basics into the highest levels of fashion and style. Although she has many amazing wedding accessories that will compliment your big day perfectly, Miss Ruby Sue excels in providing high end fashion to everyday life, because it's my motto that you should be fabulous everyday and not save it for a special occasion!

Miss Ruby Sue is the baby of Lori who is a 36 year old mother of 4 beautiful children and one black Llasa Apso dog. Miss Ruby Sue, first launched in 2008 on Etsy has quickly become well recognized for her fine attention to details and couture styling. It is easy to see why she has been featured in so many different media outlets such as Small Magazine and Martha Stewart; been featured on many design blogs; and even been featured on many well regarded television shows including Good Morning America, The View and the Today Show! Her pieces have also graced the likes of Courtney Love and Joy Baher a co-host of The View. You can also find "Angles Song' and 'Anthropology' necklaces in select Anthropologie stores in the United States! You know you have something great going on when Anthropologie, the expert in the cool and fashionable wants to carry your line!

Lori's work truly stands true to Miss Ruby Sue's motto in that Miss Ruby Sue radiates effortless charm in bold colors, artistic patterns and a free spirit to make any woman of any age stand-out and feel beautiful.

My Review

Lori was so kind in sending me two pieces from Miss Ruby Sue,Angel's Song and a beautiful hairband! The pieces arrived quickly and was in a large box and nicely wrapped so that they would not be crushed during shipping! I was very excited when I first opened the box and my excitement didn't end there, because when I took out the pieces I was in awe of the beauty of it.

Angel's Song is such a great piece that features whites pinks and sparkle is added by the different embellishments that are vintage findings. So that means that each necklace is unique and one of a kind! It also features a great tulle frill that adds a greater depth to the necklace. I love the pom pom detail that is used instead of having a chain because it is very unexpected but works really well with the design and style of the necklace.

You can tell that necklace is very well made, with the silk flowers being reinforced in the back by heavy felt. All the embellishments are very well secured so you don't have to worry about it falling off. I found that this necklace worked really well with many different outfits. I have worn it dressed up as well as going to school and each time I have worn it I have gotten a lot of great comments and feedback. I find that I really do stand out while wearing this necklace and it definitely gives me a great little bounce in my steps.

The other item is an amazing hairband with a great big bow and silk rose. I am a die hard fan of the fashion in Gossip Girl and I always drool at Blair's amazing hairbands! Well I know that this hairband would totally grace her very fashionable head because this brings major style! Again like with the necklace it provides a big statement and a lot of great comments. The hairband has been wrapped with a raw silk ribbon that really sets off the red of the bow. I really love the size of the bow because it is the perfect size.

A Look Back at the Olympics

I can't believe they are over!!! It's been a month of good times, good sights to see and crowded street in Vancouver! It was awesome getting to meet and talk to people all over the world and who knows I may have even talked to you and not even knew it!

Now it all feels weird that it's over and that life is getting back to normal! Maybe I don't want it to get back to normal! Is there anything wrong with wanting to have one of the biggest parties in the world come to your home town?

Tell me did you end up going to Vancouver or watching the games on TV?

Here are some of the pictures that I took of my Olympic experience! If you want I can post more! =)

Review:

I wish I could upload some of the great pictures that I took of the headband that they sent me but unfortunately my computer is still not able to access wifi! Pretty aggravating! Get Organized this Tax Season with Carolina Pad (Review and Giveaway)!

It's almost April, and everyone knows that tax season is now in session! For those of you who have been doing your taxes for a while or for those who have decided to venture out and do your own taxes for the first time, you may know the frustration that arises when trying to get everything organized. I mean it's hard to keep your documents in one place and I'm sure everyone has that dreaded box or drawer that is over brimming with statements and documents. I usually find that if I can use pretty things, it really helps with doing tedious tasks. I was so happy when I was contacted by Carolina Pad to do a review especially for the tax season.

Carolina Pad is a great company that specializes in school and office supplies that are well designed and fashionable. They understand that sometimes you need something to cheer you up when you are doing something that may not be exciting. They really bring cool designs and excitement to products that are often very clean and plain. They have collections that can appeal to any age, whether you are just starting out school or already working. They offer great products such as laptop bags, pencil cases, pens, folders, paper clips and so much more!

What I admire most about Carolina Pad is their commitment to Commerce with a Conscience! They donate a lot of time and products to very deserving organizations and they have special collections where proceeds go to certain organizations. They also have a great line The Sasquatch Brand which uses mostly recycled content.

Carolina Pad
has been featured in many great shows such as Glee, Desperate Housewives and 90210! Their products have even been seen used by Carrie Underwood on Oprah and Miley Cyrus loves their products too!

My Review:

Carolina Pad
was so generous to send me a huge box of goodies so that I could get my paperwork in order and more importantly do it fashionably! I was sent the following products from their best selling line "Hot Chocolate":

  • 13 pocket folder - $7.49
  • File folders - $5.99
  • 26 pocket folder - $17.99
  • 8 pocket folder - $6.99
  • Binder clips - $2.99
  • Paper clips - $2.99
My favorite piece from the collection has to be the 26 Pocket Folder because I can store so much paperwork in it. It is easy to organize and I love that it has a handle so it makes it easy to tote around. The fact that it is so compact means that you can organize without having to give up a lot of space. I have found that it is more convenient having everything organized and takes less time and less stress to complete forms.

For the Organizational Folder, I like that it is smaller than the 26 Pocket Folder because it is perfect for school! This is the one that I tote to school so that I can put all the loose paper and notes that I get from my different classes. Since the five classes that I am taking can easily fit into this folder I only need to bring one folder to class instead of multiple binders. I also get lots of great compliments on how unique it is! And there is no way someone can accidentally grab my folder thinking it's theirs.

I also find that it helps if you can organize forms and paper together, but if you don't want to use a stapler or can't then the Binder Clips and Paper Clips come in handy as well. I love how they are different patterns so that you can tell them apart and makes it easy to distinguish between the piles.

Here are additional pictures of the other items that I received from Carolina Pad:

Jolt Style Giveaway

I am a jean fanatic! I just love jeans and as a student jeans are a huge staple in my wardrobe. I usually find it difficult to find a great pair of jeans since most jeans are often too long or way too large! I hate having jeans that make me look like I lost a lost amount of weight and kept the pair of jeans. I also sadly have a non-existent butt so often the back of my jeans looks like they are going to fall off!

Jolt is a great clothing company that offers affordable options of trendy fashions. They have a great selection of jackets, denim, pants and shorts and unbelievable prices. Upon looking at their site nothing was over $100, yet they look like they cost more than that. They offer great basics that can easily be incorporated into your current wardrobe and they are easy to match with anything in your closet.

Jolt's designs have also been featured on numerous blogs and in the popular teen magazine Seventeen.

My Review:

I was so happy when I got the chance to review a pair of Jolt's amazing skinny jeans and I was very pleased with my experience with Jolt. Even though I live in Canada, I received the jeans in less than three days of finalizing the details in one of their great reps.

I love skinny jeans because I have found that they best fit my body. Not only do I have to worry about ugly bagginess but they can easily be worn with flats without dragging on the ground or easily put into boots without having to really shove your foot in. The jeans were in an amazing dark blue wash and it had a great fit. I loved how they had some spandex in the jeans because it really helped with making the jeans really cling to your body.

I think my favorite part of the jeans was the amazing back pockets. They had a great zipper like detail that really added curves to my butt which really needs all the help it can get!

Jolt offers jeans from size 1 all the way to size 13 so there are a lot of great options of fashionable jeans no matter what size you maybe. I also love the amazing detailing of Jolt's Jeans! They have amazing detailing of the back pockets and they often resemble the back pockets of many popular brands of jeans that can cost almost three times as much!
The Giveaway:

The amazing people over at Jolt are giving one very lucky reader an amazing pair of Jolt Jeans of their choice!

This giveaway is only open to Canadian and US residents! Sorry international readers!

The giveaway will end on March 30th!
